Goonies Day 2019 Button Promotion
Start your trip at the Visitor Center or Oregon Film Museum and pick up your Annual Goonies Day button. The button is $2 and includes an entry into our raffle drawing. (Additional raffle tickets may be purchased for $1 each.)
The 2019 Goonies day button will unlock access to promotional offers at participating businesses that could include discounts or gifts with purchase, access to special menu items, etc.

Join #superfan Curtis and the Beyond the Backlot Crew in exploring the locations, characters and iconic scenes of The Goonies with this exclusive screening of the extended, 30-minute version of their pilot episode. The episode includes interviews with locals who were on location during the filming of The Goonies, including Pat Lines and Mick Alderman.
Beyond the Backlot, a new show exploring filming locations, visited Astoria in 2017 to produce their pilot episode on Astoria and The Goonies. The host, Curtis, had a great time reliving the film and bringing back those childhood memories by visiting Astoria -- like many fans have done over the years. Curtis and the crew will be in Astoria for Goonies Day with an exclusive peak at their full-length episode and will host a QnA directly following the episode, before The Goonies takes the big screen.
The Columbian is a historic theater that offers traditional movie snacks along with pizza, beer, wine and more. All tickets are sold on-site and the box office and concessions are cash-only.
Beyond the Backlot: In the Studio - podcast recording

The Beyond the Backlot crew will record an episode of their Podcast "In the Studio" from the parking lot of the Oregon Film Museum - the same parking lot where Spielberg filmed the Fratelli breakout scene. A show dedicated to bringing our favorite movies from the 70s, 80s, and 90s back to life! We share stories, talk our favorite movies, talk to actors, writers, and filmmakers of our favorite movies and more. Grab a chair and hang out with us.

The Beyond the Backlot crew is hosting a photo opportunity that puts you into the jail breakout scene from The Goonies. Visit the Oregon Film Museum and strike your best pose for their camera.
Trashy Treasure Hunt at Haystack Rock
Friday, June 7: 10 a.m to 1 p.m.
Haystack Rock (look for the red truck), Cannon Beach, OR
Hey you guys, the booty traps are set. Come to Haystack Rock for a booty hunt! Collect trashy treasure and clean the beach in the process. Feel good about what you've done, and leave with your own Trash Talk Booty Vial. Don't forget to have your picture taken at the iconic location before you go.

One Eyed Willy’s Never Say Dive Pirate Ship Race

On Saturday, June 8 at 10:00 am, all Goonies, pirates, and other roustabouts should assemble to watch the great race across the waters of the Flavel pond. First ship to reach the other side will walk away with a crisp new $50 bill. Other fabulous prizes might be offered: best looking ship, worst looking ship, best ship name, ship that looks the most like a Baby Ruth. . .
On Location: Ecola State Park with Patrick Lines

Patrick Lines had a long distinguished career with the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department; concluding with 12 years as a Team Leader at Fort Stevens State Park. But in 1984 he was the Park Ranger at Ecola State Park when scenes from the movie The Goonies were shot there. He served as the day to day liaison between OPRD and the film crew. Pat was able to provide the crew with some valuable lessons in dealing with weather conditions on the Oregon Coast.
Pat will walk groups around the Park to talk about his experiences. Attendees can join him anywhere along his route. A volunteer will be on-site to help point visitors toward him.
Doubloon Dash - VIRTUAL 5k
The Doubloon Dash is a virtual event than can be done anywhere, any time. When you register, you receive a goonies-themed medal and bib number by mail.
Virtual Pace Series is offering another Goonies-themed event this year: the Doubloon Dash 5K virtual race. For each participant that uses the discount code GOONDOCKS when signing up, they gave a portion of the proceeds to us and you save 10% on your fees. The medal and bib will be mailed to you, and you do the run/walk at your leisure.
Singing Sands 5k in Cannon Beach

If you are visiting during Goonies Day weekend, sign up for the Singing Sands 5k on Sunday, June 9, and earn your Virtual 5K medal while running along the beach seen in the film! This 5k is offered as a part of the Cannon Beach Sandcastle Contest weekend.
